Required Documents

Step by step
- 1
Check if you meet the KOT-B criteria
KOT-B is for households with low-to-medium income. You do not need to receive another benefit — KOT-A is the category for those on the Minimum Guaranteed Income. Annual household income must not exceed €9,000 for a single-person household, plus €4,500 for each additional adult and €2,250 for each minor (e.g. a couple with 2 minor children: €18,000). For larger households the limit is €24,750 (e.g. 3 adults with 1 minor, or a couple with 3 minors) and €27,000 (e.g. 4 adults, or a couple with 4 minors), and never above €31,500. A property criterion also applies: real estate up to €120,000, plus €15,000 for each additional member. The check is made against your finalized tax return and your ENFIA statement. The electricity supply must be in your or your spouse's name; if your tax return shows you as hosted, you do not apply yourself (the host applies for the whole household).

No paperwork needed — just a few details
You submit no documents: income, property, household composition and, where applicable, disability of 67% or more are drawn automatically from your tax return (form E1) and ENFIA. You only need your TAXISnet codes, the electricity supply number of your main residence (printed on your bill), an email address and a mobile number.
- 3
Submit the application at idika.gr/kot
Log in with your personal TAXISnet codes on the IDIKA platform, confirm your details and give the consent of every adult household member for their data to be checked. Enter your electricity supply number and contact details. The application is made online only — it cannot be submitted at citizen service centres (KEP).

What happens after you apply
Your application is checked automatically against your tax return and ENFIA. If it is approved, the discount is passed straight onto the next electricity bills for your main residence, whichever supplier you are with, and you need do nothing further.
- 5
Renew the application every year
KOT is not permanent: you need a new application every year, within the announced deadline (usually shortly after the income-tax-return deadline). The 2026 reapplication deadline ended on 25 September 2026; existing beneficiaries who did not reapply were removed, but a new application can be submitted at any time during the year (after cancelling any earlier application). Always check the current deadline at idika.gr/kot.

What it is
KOT-B (Social Residential Tariff B) is a special electricity tariff offered by all suppliers for the main residence. The annual income limit starts at €9,000 for a one-person household and rises with the household composition, up to €31,500. The taxable value of real estate starts at €120,000 and rises by €15,000 for each additional member, up to €180,000. Exclusions based on indicators of a luxury lifestyle also apply. For a member with a disability of 67% or more or who needs mechanical life support, the limits are increased; disability is not in itself a condition. The discount is €0.045/kWh within the consumption limits. Families with four or more dependent children should look at the separate KOT-C.
