What it is
The Municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis (Municipal Council decision 137/27-04-2026) reduces the municipal cleaning and lighting fees by 10% a year for permanent residents who adopt a dog or cat from the municipality's stray-animal management programme. The animal is microchipped and, on adoption, registered in the National Pet Register (EMZS) in your name. The reduction is applied to the electricity supply of your main home, after the municipal service checks the documents and certifies the adoption. Every year you submit a solemn declaration that the animal is still in your care. Application period: no fixed deadline.
