What it is
Monthly OPEKA financial support for uninsured people and people insured with the State who have paraplegia, quadriplegia or an amputation (disability of 67% or more, as assessed by the competent health committee). It is a separate programme from the “Mobility Allowance for Paraplegic, Quadriplegic and Amputee Persons”, with the same target group. People insured with another fund (e.g. e-EFKA) are eligible only if their fund does not grant them an equivalent allowance, and they then provide a certificate from the fund that they have no entitlement. The full amount is €833 a month, and €357 a month for a single amputation. Anyone who receives smaller support for the same reason from another source gets half the amount (€417). Application period: applications accepted at any time.

When it is paid
Payment rule
On the last working day of each month. Ahead of Christmas and Easter it may be paid up to 10 days earlier, by decision of the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family (Law 4520/2018, art. 4(6)).
