How to apply
The steps to apply yourself. Free: you don’t need to pay anyone.
Required Documents
Usually the details gov.gr already holds about you are enough.
Step by step
- 1
Check whether you are already in the Digital Disability Registry
The Disability Card is issued to people with a total disability rate of at least 50% who are listed in the Digital Registry of Persons with Disabilities. If you hold an active KEPA certificate you are registered automatically, with nothing to do on your side. If you hold an ASYE, ANYE or AAYE certificate that has not been digitised, first ask the relevant committee to digitise it.

Get ready with just your access codes
No supporting documents are needed. Your personal Taxisnet codes are enough, because your certification details are pulled from the Disability Registry. If you also want the plastic card, you will additionally need a delivery address and a mobile phone number.
- 3
Request issuance at karta.epan.gov.gr
Log in with your Taxisnet codes at karta.epan.gov.gr, which is part of the National Disability Portal (epan.gov.gr), and submit your request to have the Disability Card issued.

Choose the card format
You can save and print the card as a PDF file, keep it digitally in the Gov.gr Wallet, or also request the plastic card. The plastic card is sent by registered mail to the address you gave and is activated with a PIN: you receive an SMS on your mobile and enter the code at karta.epan.gov.gr.
- 5
See what you can do with the Card
With the Card you are served as a priority at public services and enter archaeological sites and Ministry of Culture museums free of charge, together with your companion where this is provided for. Holders of tier II or III, that is a rate of 67% or more, who also meet the income criteria use the plastic Card for free travel on OASA and OSETH and for a 50% reduced ticket on intercity KTEL buses. The Card does not abolish the Disability Travel Pass and does not replace the Disability Parking Permit, which remains the only document for disability parking spaces.

What it is
The Disability Card digitally proves a person's disability status and disability-rate band (I: 50-66%, II: 67-79%, III: 80% and above), without showing sensitive health data. When you show it, you are served first at public services; the Card is accepted as a supporting document instead of the disability certification for the details it shows; and it gives you free entry to archaeological sites and museums of the Ministry of Culture, together with a companion where provided. Holders of band II or III (67% and above) who meet the income criteria can use the plastic Card for free travel on OASA and OSETH (Athens and Thessaloniki public transport), while on intercity KTEL buses the ticket is reduced by 50%. The Card is issued as a PDF document, digitally in the Gov.gr Wallet or in plastic form. It does not abolish the existing documents (Disability Travel Pass, AthenaCard, ThessCard) and does not replace the Disability Parking Card, which remains the only document for disabled parking spaces. Other disability benefits are being added gradually.
