What it is
OASTH carries people with disabilities free of charge, door to door, with four specially adapted vehicles (three on a regular schedule and one in reserve), since 7 April 2005. The vehicles have boarding equipment and an attendant who helps with getting on and off.
Each trip is booked the day before by phone, by the person, their family or through an association or institution, on 2310-933930 and 2310-952638 (07:30-21:30). The service runs daily 06:00-22:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 07:00-23:00. Wheelchair users and people with severe mobility problems have priority; people who are totally blind or have a milder mobility or other disability are also served. By arrangement, OASTH also provides free group trips for disability associations and bodies.
The service covers OASTH's urban transport area in Thessaloniki.
