Early Childhood Intervention (children up to 6 with disability/developmental disorders)

Article 48 of Law 5322/2026 (Government Gazette A 117/24.07.2026) establishes the universal Early Intervention Programme for children aged 0 to 6 with a disability or developmental delay, or with an increased probability of one (e.g. premature birth, a stay in a neonatal intensive care unit, family risk factors). Priority will take into account family income and family composition; the programme will be run by EETAA and may be provided through "placement values" (vouchers). The details, and therefore new applications, will be set by a ministerial decision that has not been issued yet.

Pilot programme: for 2,500 children and their families, with counselling support for the family, an individual intervention plan with specialised therapies, and training in assistive technology, sign language and mobility, mainly at home, at the nursery or in a therapy setting. The "placement value" was €800 a month for at least 20 sessions, €600 for at least 15 or €400 for at least 10. Applications were submitted from 14/11/2025 to 5/12/2025 at proimi.eetaa.gr. Participants continue with ESPA funding and, if the child is under 6, automatically become beneficiaries of the universal programme.
