Fuel subsidy at the pump extended until 15 November 2026

By myepidoma editorial team

A decision of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance (Government Gazette B 6568) extends the state fuel subsidy from 1 to 15 November 2026, at the same rates as in the second half of October. Per litre, before VAT, the subsidy is €0.16 for heating oil, €0.12 for diesel and €0.08 for unleaded petrol of up to 95 octane. With VAT, the subsidy at the pump is 20, 15 and 10 cents per litre respectively, according to the joint announcement with the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

What it means for you

You do not need to apply. The subsidy is paid to «refineries and fuel importers», and the joint ministerial decisions state that the subsidies «are passed on in full to final consumers». The heating-oil subsidy is separate from the heating allowance, which has its own application. Whether the subsidy will continue after 15 November 2026 has not been announced.
