What it is

OPEKA (Agrotiki Estia Account, LAE) pays a cash award - scholarship of €1,000 to children of LAE/OPEKA beneficiaries with a direct or indirect entitlement (insured persons or pensioners of the former OGA, Farmers' Branch) who passed the 2026 Panhellenic national exams into a public Greek university (AEI) for the first time.

The child must have been a school pupil in the 2025-2026 school year, be unmarried and not working, and be enrolling for the first time at a public university after passing the 2026 Panhellenic exams (or another procedure treated as equivalent). There are 2,106 awards; if more eligible applications are submitted, the beneficiaries are chosen by an electronic draw.

Applications for 2026: from Wednesday 16 September 2026 (15:00) to Thursday 15 October 2026 (23:59), online in OPEKA's dedicated application (www.idika.gr/lae-miteres). The parent who is the direct LAE/OPEKA beneficiary applies; the child applies only if they receive an orphan's pension, a disability pension or the paraplegia allowance of e-EFKA (OGA). The programme runs every year (for 2026: Ministerial Decision 7515/2026).
