What it is
Under the Social Programme of the Region of Crete, the action "Free Transport Card for Students in Need" covers students' travel from where they live during their studies to the institution where they are enrolled: the University of Crete, the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) and the Technical University of Crete. The card covers the urban/intercity KTEL buses (regional bus operators) of Heraklion, Chania and Rethymno. For the 2025-2026 academic year the indicative cost of the action was €20,000.00, and €70,000.00 has been committed for 2026-2027.
