Paid practicum for trainees of DYPA's vocational schools (SAEK, ΣΑΕΚ; formerly IEK)
Trainees of DYPA's 30 Higher Vocational Training Schools (SAEK, ΣΑΕΚ) do a 960-hour practicum with an employer and receive from DYPA pay equal to 80% of the minimum daily wage of an unskilled worker, once the practicum is completed.

Arrange the practicum contract with your school
The final-semester practicum takes place with an employer under a contract approved by the vocational school (SAEK, ΣΑΕΚ). DYPA pays after the 960 hours are completed.

What it is
DYPA's Higher Vocational Training Schools (SAEK, ΣΑΕΚ; formerly IEK) run for 5 semesters: 4 semesters of theory and lab training and 1 semester of paid practicum of 960 hours with an employer.
For the practicum the trainee receives pay equal to 80% of the legal minimum daily wage of an unskilled worker for each practicum day (pro rata if the day is shorter than 8 hours). DYPA pays it after the practicum is completed, from national or EU funds. During the practicum the trainee is insured with e-EFKA for accidents only, with contributions paid by the employer.
It applies to trainees who enrolled in a DYPA SAEK/IEK from the winter semester of 2021 (training year 2021-2022) onwards. The practicum takes place under a special contract with an eligible employer, approved by the school. It does not cover Ministry of Education or private schools.
