What it is
DYPA (Public Employment Service) paid one-off emergency financial support to unemployed former employees of three companies, under three separate Joint Ministerial Decisions (JMDs). Applications for all three have closed. (a) Hellenic Shipyards S.A. — €2,700 (JMD 24544/28.03.2024): for those who had been covered by point (b) of paragraph 9 of article 26 of Law 4258/2014 and whose contract with the Hellenic Navy ended on 31.12.2023, who were registered as unemployed with DYPA when the decision was published and until payment, who were not receiving regular unemployment benefit at the time of payment, and who were not pensioners and had not applied for an old-age pension. Applications until 02.06.2024. (b) Varvaresos SA — €1,000 (JMD 43641/02.09.2024): for unemployed former employees registered with DYPA on 02.09.2024 (with or without regular unemployment benefit) and for employees who had until then exercised the right to withhold their work, provided they were included in the list of beneficiaries submitted to DYPA by the workers' union. Applications at the KPA2 office of Naousa until 31.10.2024. (c) LARKO S.A. and Hellenic Shipyards S.A. — €500 or €1,000 (JMD 52965/09.12.2024): for former employees of Hellenic Shipyards (the same group as in (a)) and of LARKO (contracts that ended because of the company's special administration) who registered as unemployed with DYPA — €500 for those registered by 30.04.2024 (Shipyards) or by 30.09.2024 (LARKO); €1,000 for those registered by 01.05.2024 (Shipyards) or by 01.10.2024 (LARKO) who kept their registration after that date. Having received the €2,700 support did not exclude anyone. Applications 12.12.2024–12.01.2025.
