What it is
The "e-Astypalea" scheme subsidised permanent residents of Astypalaia (and businesses operating on the island) to buy or lease long-term an electric vehicle and to buy an electric two-wheeler, three-wheeler or bicycle. It also subsidised the installation of a "smart" home charger at the main residence (up to €500, and not more than the pre-VAT purchase price) and the scrapping of an old vehicle (€3,000 for a car, €800 for a two-wheeler or three-wheeler). Persons with disabilities and parents of families with three or more dependent children (for an electric bicycle, four or more) received an extra €500. The percentage and the maximum subsidy for each vehicle category are set in the scheme's Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD). Applications were made with Taxisnet credentials at e-astypalea.gov.gr. Applications closed on 30/09/2026 (extended by Government Gazette (FEK) B' 2757/15-05-2026); no new applications are accepted. Applicants already approved file their payment request by 30/04/2027.
