What it is
DYPA Lifelong Learning Centres (KDBM) offer targeted, short vocational training, upskilling and reskilling courses in occupations the local labour market needs. Courses are designed with municipalities, chambers, businesses and sector bodies and usually last from 25 to 295 hours of theory and workshop. At the end you get a certificate of attendance.
Each course is announced with its own call on the DYPA website, which sets who can take part (e.g. registered unemployed people, permanent residents of a municipality or neighbouring municipalities, aged 18-60), the places and the deadline, usually about two weeks. Selection is by points (months of unemployment, age).
In the paid courses participants receive a training allowance of €5.00 net per hour of training after successfully completing the course, and have health cover while the training lasts. Example: the «Beekeeping» course (295 hours) of the Ioannina KDBM for 20 unemployed people of the Municipality of Voreia Tzoumerka or neighbouring municipalities took applications from 24/8 to 4/9/2026. On 19/10/2026 there is no open call for unemployed people; follow DYPA announcements.
