Conservation of endangered native farm-animal breeds (intervention Π3-70-1.5, CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027)
A yearly payment per livestock unit for farmers who keep animals of endangered native breeds, entered in the breed's herd book, with a 5-year commitment. Those who joined with the 2024 call are paid every year; no new call has been announced.

What it is
An agri-environment intervention of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027. Beneficiaries are individuals, legal entities or groups of them who keep animals of native breeds threatened with extinction, provided the animals belong to the breeds listed in the ministerial decision, are reared in the intervention areas and are entered in their breed's herd book.
Breeds include: Tinos, Kea, Katerini and Sykia cattle, the Greek buffalo and the Greek shorthorn; sheep such as Karagouniko, Sarakatsaniko, Glossa Skopelou, Oreino Ipeirou, Kymis and Lefkimis; the Skopelos goat; the native Greek pig; and the Skyros, Pindos, Pineia, Thessaly, Messara, Ilia and Rodopi horses and ponies.
Commitments last 5 years: you keep the number of enrolled animals and record them in the herd book. The payment is per livestock unit (ΜΖΚ) and is higher when the ratio of 1 male per 15 breeding females is kept.
Applications for the 1st call were filed with the 2024 Single Aid Application. Those enrolled file a payment request every year with the Single Aid Application; no new call has been announced.
