Report the damage
File a damage report with the ELGA correspondent of your municipality, within 15 days of the event, once ELGA opens damage reporting for the area.

Pay the 2025 contribution by 30/10/2026
For 2025 compensation (e.g. «Προανθικό 2025»), pay the 2025 Special Insurance Contribution by 30 October 2026.

What it is
ELGA (the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organisation) compensates the holders of farm holdings (owners, usufructuaries or operators) who are compulsorily insured with it, for damage to crop and livestock production from the risks it insures. An annual crop/livestock declaration and a paid-up special insurance contribution are needed. Damage is reported within 15 days of the event, to the ELGA correspondent of your municipality.
No producer can be compensated without having paid the special insurance contribution of the reference year on time. For 2025 compensation (e.g. the «Προανθικό 2025» programme and the remaining 2025 compensation), the deadline to pay the 2025 contribution, which had expired on 31 July 2026, was extended to 30 October 2026.
