What it is
Applicants for international protection get free legal guidance in the administrative procedure for examining the asylum application, if they ask for it in writing at the registration authority, at the latest when their application is registered. For an appeal to the Appeals Authority they get free legal assistance and representation, if they ask for it in writing at the Asylum Service at least 48 hours before the appeal deadline. For an appeal to a court the legal-aid conditions of Law 3226/2004 apply. Application period: ongoing.
