What it is
An offer of a private public-benefit foundation — not a state benefit. The Bodossaki Foundation has awarded scholarships every year since 1972; the 2026-2027 cycle was its 54th regular programme. Postgraduate scholarships are for graduates or final-year students of any university school, for a full-time master's (ISCED level 7, not a PhD) in Greece or abroad, in the fields set by each call (2026-2027: Life Sciences, Applied Sciences/Technology, Business and Organisation Management). Applicants need an average or degree grade of at least 8.00 (or the equivalent for foreign universities), certified knowledge of the programme's language, and limited financial means of the applicant and parents, weighed together with performance and an interview. Applicants must be Greek by citizenship or descent, and the studies must end before age 35. The scholarship is €1,100 a month for a university abroad and €800 or €600 a month for a Greek or Cypriot university, depending on whether it is more or less than 60 km from home. The Foundation also gives 4 postdoctoral scholarships to PhD holders (€18,000 a year for research in Greece, €30,000 abroad, for 2 years) and scholarships of up to 6 months for visiting researchers abroad (€2,000 or €2,500 a month plus €1,000 for travel). The 2026-2027 cycle is closed (deadlines 24/2/2026 for postgraduate, 17/3/2026 for postdoctoral, 31/3/2026 for visiting researchers). The next cycle has not been announced yet.
