Check that you are a large family
Four or more dependent children are required. The income limit is EUR 50,000 for four children, plus EUR 2,500 per additional child, up to EUR 70,000. No property criteria apply. The electricity supply must be in your or your spouse's name; if your tax return shows you as hosted, you do not apply yourself.

Obtain a family-status certificate
Issued online through gov.gr or by your municipality.

Obtain the ASPE certificate
The large-family status certificate is issued by the Supreme Confederation of Large Families of Greece and is required ONLY for category C.

File the application on the HDIKA platform
Sign in at idika.gr/kot with your TAXISnet credentials, confirm your AMKA, choose «KOT C» and enter the electricity supply number of your main residence.

Reapply every year
Enrolment does not renew itself. A new application must be filed within two months of the income-tax filing deadline, otherwise the discount stops automatically.

What it is
The Large-Family Tariff (KOT C) is the third category of the Social Household Tariff and covers families with four or more dependent children. The discount is EUR 100 per megawatt-hour (about EUR 0.10 per kilowatt-hour) on the supply charge for the main residence. The income limit is EUR 50,000 a year for a family with four dependent children, rising by EUR 2,500 for each additional child, capped at EUR 70,000. Unlike KOT A and KOT B, NO property criteria apply. Subsidised four-month consumption starts at 2,000 kWh for four children and rises by 200 kWh per additional child up to 4,000 kWh, with a further 300 kWh where a household member has a disability of 67% or more and 600 kWh where someone needs mechanical support at home. Applications are filed on the HDIKA platform (idika.gr/kot) with TAXISnet credentials, and category C also requires a family-status certificate and a certificate from the Supreme Confederation of Large Families of Greece (ASPE). As with the other categories, enrolment does not renew itself: a new application is required every year.
