How to apply
The steps to apply yourself. Free: you don’t need to pay anyone.
Required Documents
Usually the details gov.gr already holds about you are enough.
Step by step
- 1
Confirm you qualify for KOT-A
Category A of the Social Household Tariff is aimed at beneficiaries of the Guaranteed Minimum Income (formerly KEA): you must meet the GMI income, assets and residence criteria and have an active, approved application. The electricity supply must be in your or your spouse's name; if your tax return shows you as hosted, you do not apply yourself (the host applies for the whole household). KOT is offered by every electricity supplier, not only DEI. If you are not a GMI beneficiary, check the gov.gr page to see whether you meet the criteria for another KOT category.

Prepare your details
You will need your personal TaxisNet codes, your AMKA (social security number), the 11-digit electricity supply number (found on your provider's bill), a valid email address and a mobile phone number.
- 3
Submit your application at idika.gr/kot
The application is made exclusively online on the HDIKA platform. Log in with your TaxisNet codes, select the KOT-A category, and fill in your electricity supply and contact details. The system automatically checks your details against your tax return and your latest ENFIA property tax assessment.

Watch for the discount on your electricity bill
If your application is approved, the discount is applied automatically by your supplier on upcoming bills — you do not need to contact them. Under the terms in force, the discount applies to the energy component (about 0.075 EUR per kWh) plus an exemption from network usage charges. The final benefit depends on your consumption and your supplier's tariff.

Submit a new application every year
Enrolment is not permanent. After the annual tax settlement you must submit a new application within the deadline announced by HDIKA, otherwise you are automatically removed from KOT. The 2026 reapplication deadline ended on 25 September 2026; existing beneficiaries who did not reapply were removed, but a new application can be submitted at any time during the year (after cancelling any earlier application).
