What it is
Pupils pay half fare (50% discount) on KTEL urban and intercity buses with the pupil pass issued by the school head. It covers: - pupils of public primary and secondary schools; - pupils of public and state-recognised private technical and vocational schools; - pupils of private schools, where no equivalent public school operates in the town; - pupils of DYPA (formerly OAED) apprenticeship schools, church schools and special-education schools.
The pupil fare applies on the urban lines linking home and school and on one intercity line from the place of residence to the school's town, with no limit on daily trips. It applies during the school period, except Sundays and public holidays (the intercity fare also applies on holidays). Some schools, such as technical, vocational and apprenticeship schools, have wider validity.
Separately, war-disabled people and their companions travel free on urban buses and at half fare on intercity buses with their special ID.
