What it is

The Young Farmers programme provides one-off support of €30,000 to €42,500 to young people aged 18-40 who set up as professional farmers for the first time. The amount depends on the geographical area (mountainous, less-favoured), the type of holding (livestock, beekeeping) and membership of a cooperative. Main conditions: permanent residence in the area, a business plan, insurance with OGA/EFKA, and a minimum standard output of the holding of €12,000. The duties of the former OPEKEPE (Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid) passed to AADE (Law 5264/2025). The 1st call of Intervention Π3-75.1 «Installation of young farmers» accepted applications from 29/11/2024 to 11/03/2025 (after an extension); no new call has been announced.
