IKY funding for student teams taking part in international competitions
IKY pays €500 for each student who is a member of a team representing a department of a Greek university in an international competition abroad. The department's secretariat submits the application.

Talk to the academic supervisor and the secretariat
The team must represent the department in the competition. Tell the team's academic supervisor and the department's secretariat.

From 1 September to 15 October 2026, on IKY's application form, with details of the team, the supervisor and the competition.

What it is
IKY funds teams of students of Greek universities taking part in international competitions held abroad in the 2026-2027 academic year that pick the best team or contestant in their scientific field. Each selected team member receives a lump sum of €500, up to €5,000.00 per team (for teams with more than ten members).
Students do not apply themselves: the department's secretariat applies from 1 September to 15 October 2026, confirming that the team will represent the department in the competition and giving details of the team, its academic supervisor and the competition. IKY's Board selects the teams using the criteria of Joint Ministerial Decision 69893/Z1/2024 (ΚΥΑ 69893/Ζ1/2024; article 1(4)).
