What it is
The Organic Farming programme supports farmers who commit to applying organic crop or livestock methods. The indicative (maximum) amount is €120–€1,440 per hectare depending on the crop or livestock (e.g. olives €505, sheep and goats €247); it is reduced when applications exceed the budget. For aid year 2024 the cut was 45% (35% for sheep and goats): e.g. olives €277, sheep and goats €160 per hectare. From the 2025 Single Aid Application, only farmers who have completed the conversion period (certificate from the control body on TRACES) qualify. The commitment lasts at least 3-5 years, during which the farmer must be certified by a recognised certification body. The application is submitted with the Single Aid Application in the AADE myAGRO application.
