Andreas Mentzelopoulos scholarships for studies at the University of Patras

For the 2026-2027 academic year (19th consecutive year) the University of Patras offers the donor-funded "Andreas Mentzelopoulos" scholarships. Undergraduate: up to 30 scholarships of €5,000 a year for first-year students admitted in 2026. Master's: up to 2 scholarships of €5,000 a year, for up to 2 years, only for University of Patras graduates starting a master's there in 2026. Doctoral: 17 scholarships of €10,000 a year, for up to 3 years, for PhD candidates of all departments who hold a master's degree. All scholarships are for candidates of Greek origin and citizenship; origin from Achaia carries particular weight. For undergraduate and master's students the main factor is financial hardship (proven difficulty in meeting the cost of studies), then origin from Achaia and the entry or degree grade. For PhD candidates the main criterion is the innovation of the thesis and its usefulness to Greek society and the economy. You must not receive other financial support during your studies or follow another degree programme at the same time; students admitted by transfer are not eligible. Applications for 2026-2027 were submitted in September 2026 through the scholarships page of the University. The scholarships are announced every year; the next call has not been announced yet.
