IKY bequest-funded scholarships for Master's and PhD studies abroad
Every year IKY (the State Scholarships Foundation) awards scholarships through a competition for Master's studies or doctoral research abroad, funded by the bequests it manages. Each bequest has its own field of study, number of places, amount and criteria.

The application and documents are sent to IKY electronically, as the call specifies, before the deadline.

IKY publishes eligibility lists, holds the competition and announces the scholarship holders.

- Fill in and submit the application. Enter your details, upload anything requested and submit. Keep the protocol number.

What it is
IKY (the State Scholarships Foundation) awards scholarships every year, through a competition, for Master's studies or doctoral research abroad, funded by the bequests it manages. Each bequest publishes its own call, with its own field of study (e.g. Education Sciences, Psychiatry), number of places, amount and criteria.
Example: for the 2026-2027 academic year the "Theodorideio Bequest for Teachers" offered 6 scholarships for full-time Master's studies in Education Sciences at universities in European Union countries. It was open to graduates of Greek universities who may work as primary or secondary school teachers, or to teachers, with a degree grade of at least "very good" (Λίαν Καλώς, 6.50). The scholarship was €1,500.00 a month (gross) for up to 24 consecutive months, plus a one-off €1,000.00 for settling in abroad; it does not cover tuition fees. Applications closed on 6 July 2026.
