How to apply
The steps to apply yourself. Free: you don’t need to pay anyone.
Required Documents
Usually the details gov.gr already holds about you are enough.
Step by step
- 1
Check that you qualify
The «Renovate - Rent» programme is funded by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and run by DYPA. It is for people holding full ownership or usufruct of at least 50% of a home up to 100 sqm in a residential area, which is not declared as a primary residence or as rented out and has shown as vacant on the E2 tax form for the last 3 tax years. Annual family taxable income must be up to €40,000 and total real estate value up to €300,000.
- 2
Prepare your basic details
The application is digital and most data is pulled automatically from state records — you do not upload documents when you submit. You will need your TaxisNet codes, the property's Property ID number (A.T.AK.) from your E9 form, an estimate of the renovation cost, contact details and your IBAN. The works' invoices are needed later, after the renovation.
- 3
Submit the application online
Go to the service page on gov.gr and log in with your TaxisNet codes. On the DYPA platform you select the property and fill in the estimated cost, contact details and bank account. Before submitting, confirm on the same page that the current cycle is accepting applications and that the criteria have not changed.
Open the page - 4
See the decision and what follows
Approval or rejection is issued automatically, based on the criteria and the data the State already holds. If your application is rejected — or is later withdrawn or revoked — you can file an objection within a strict 10-day deadline, only through the same online application and with supporting documentation. For applications that are approved, the programme provides for an advance of up to 50% of the subsidy into the account you declared.
- 5
Carry out the renovation and rent out the property
The works must be completed within 6 months of approval and payment of the advance, with all invoices paid electronically (card or bank transfer, not cash). Then sign an electronic lease and declare it within 9 months of the advance, renting out the home for at least 3 years.
