Exemption or 50% cut in water charges for vulnerable groups (Municipality of Erymanthos)

The Municipality of Erymanthos exempts from the water charges of the main home needy families, people with a disability of 80% or more and single parents with income below €10,000, and cuts the charges by 50% for disability of 67% or more, large and three-child families and single parents, with income limits.

What it is

By council decision 106/2025 on the 2026 water charges, the Municipality of Erymanthos keeps the cuts and exemptions for vulnerable groups, for the main home only:

  • needy families: exemption (consumption up to 240 m³ a year);
  • people with a disability of 80% or more with annual household income below €20,000 plus €2,000 for each minor or dependent child: exemption (up to 240 m³ a year);
  • people with a disability of 67% or more with annual household income below €18,000 plus €2,000 for each minor dependent child: 50% cut;
  • large and three-child families (treated as large families under Law 3454/2006) with annual household income below €20,000 plus €2,000 for each minor dependent child (e.g. €26,000 with three children, €28,000 with four): 50% cut;
  • single-parent families with annual household income below €15,000: 50% cut; below €10,000: exemption.

The application with the documents (KEPA certificate, proof of the children's studies, E1 etc.) is filed with the municipality's Revenue and Property Department. The cut applies from the day of the application and gives no right to refunds.
