What it is
The Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Hersonissos (DEYAH) has a social tariff in every district of the Municipality of Hersonissos. Water and sewerage use fees are cut by 40% for:
- large families (including a parent without a spouse with three children, whom the law treats as a large family) with children up to 18, or up to 23 if studying;
- three-child families with children up to 18 (up to 23 if studying) and yearly family income up to €25,000;
- single-parent families with yearly family income up to €12,000;
- families where the applicant and/or the children have a disability of 67% or more, with yearly family income up to €20,000.
The discount applies only to household use, for one supply serving the beneficiary, up to 120 cubic metres per four months.
For the needy (with no means of living at all, with a certificate of financial hardship from the regional Welfare service or the municipal Social Protection department) the first band (0-25 cubic metres per four months) is free of charge and without standing charge, for water and sewerage; the other bands are charged with the social-tariff discount.
At the end of each year you bring the documents again to stay on the social tariff the next year.
