What it is
The Kavala water utility applies a social tariff (board decision 202/2025, which extends decision 138/2024 until the new tariff policy is approved; approved by the Kavala Municipal Committee with decision 572/2025):
- The needy: 90%.
- People with a disability above 80%, annual income up to €24,000: 50%.
- Large families, annual income up to €24,000 (plus €2,000 for each dependant beyond four): 50%.
- The unemployed, annual income up to €12,000: 50%.
- Three-child families, annual income up to €24,000: 40%.
- Single-parent families, annual income up to €12,000: 30%.
- People with a disability above 67%, annual income up to €24,000: 20%.
The discounts apply up to 80 cubic metres per four months for families of up to 4 members and 20 more cubic metres for each further dependant (children up to 18, or 24 if studying or doing military service). The property must be your main home, as in your tax return, and the documents are updated every year by the end of February. It applies across the Municipality of Kavala.
