What it is
The Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Serres (DEYAS) has special tariffs for customers in the Municipality of Serres who pay their bills or have a settlement. The tariff policy was approved by the Serres Municipal Committee on 25/11/2025 and the new prices apply from 1/1/2026.
- Three-child families: 70% off the first 70 cubic metres per four months, while the children are minors (up to 25 if studying or doing military service).
- Large families with up to five children, kidney patients, people with tetraplegia or paraplegia and people with a disability of 80% or more: 70% off the first 100 cubic metres per four months (120 with six children, 140 with seven). When the children grow up, the parents keep 70% off the first 70 cubic metres.
- Needy people unable to work (not because of unemployment), with no income or with income from benefits of up to €3,000 a year for everyone living in the home: full exemption for the first 50 cubic metres per four months and no standing charge.
- Permanent residents over 70 with family income up to €8,000 a year: they pay 50% of the water price for the first 50 cubic metres per four months.
- People with a disability of 67% or more and long-term unemployed people (over a year) with family income up to €8,000, raised by €1,000 with one child, €2,000 with two, €4,000 with three and €6,000 with four (children under 18, or up to 24 if studying or in the army): they pay 50% of the water price for the first 50 cubic metres per four months.
The disability tariffs also apply when the disability is that of a minor child or an adult under legal guardianship living permanently in the home. You apply to DEYAS with the documents for your group; the documents are renewed every year.
