What it is

The 2026 tariff policy of the Skopelos water utility (board decision 97/2025, approved by the Skopelos Municipal Committee with decision 400/2025) has two social categories, for one supply serving the main home:

  • Pensioners with an annual taxable household income up to €15,000: 50% off the value of the first 40 cubic metres of each billing period and the matching sewerage charge.
  • The long-term unemployed (more than 12 months) and the destitute, large and three-child families and people with disabilities, and recipients of the Social Solidarity Income (today the Minimum Income), with an annual taxable household income up to €15,000: 50% off the value of the first 60 cubic metres of each period and the matching sewerage charge. For large and three-child families and people with disabilities the limit rises by €2,000 for each dependant (children under 18, or up to 25 if studying or doing military service).

Large-family and three-child status is for life. The standing charge is billed as usual. The tax assessment notice is valid for its year of issue and the next; then it must be replaced, otherwise the supply leaves the category.
