DEYA Xanthi – Social water tariff for vulnerable groups

What it is

DEYA Xanthi applies a social tariff for vulnerable groups to the water charge of the main home (not to the fixed charges). The groups were set by board decisions 42/2022 and 172/2022; decision 149/2026 raised the income limits for large and three-child families from 1/10/2026.

50% discount:

large families with household income below €35,000 plus €3,000 for each child;
three-child families with household income below €40,000;
needy people and Minimum Guaranteed Income recipients (former KEA);
single-parent families with household income up to €15,000;
people with a disability of 67% or more with household income below €20,000 (only taxable income counts, not disability allowances).

Full exemption from the water charge:

people with a disability above 80%, or families with a dependant with a disability above 80%, with no income limit;
single-parent families with household income up to €5,000.

Under the law (ν. 3454/2006) a parent without a spouse with three dependent children also counts as a large family.

The income of the previous tax year counts. The discounts do not add up. You apply to DEYA Xanthi with the documents for your group, and the inclusion is reviewed every year.
