What it is
The Municipality of Karpenisi runs the social programme «Distribution of heating oil and firewood» for low-income households. Municipal council decision 108/2026 (25/09/2026) set the number of beneficiaries for 2026 at up to 60. The announcement does not state the quantity per household or when the distribution will take place.
Who can apply: Greek citizens, nationals of EU member states, persons of Greek descent (omogeneis) and permanent residents of the Municipality of Karpenisi. Adults living in the same home file only one application, in which everyone's income counts.
Income limits: single people and people living alone €5,000 (the decision lists under this group OGA pensioners over the age limit, welfare-allowance recipients, low pensioners of IKA or OAEE and unemployed people receiving benefit); single-parent families with 1 child €6,500, +€1,000 for each further minor or dependent member; families with one child €7,500, +€1,000 for each further minor or dependent member. For people with a disability of 67% or more the limits above rise by 30%. The decision sets no separate limit for couples without children; ask the municipality's social service. Recipients of the Guaranteed Minimum Income may file their inclusion decision instead of their tax documents.
Real estate: the total value (as calculated for ENFIA in the latest assessment) is not above €90,000 for a one-person household, +€15,000 for each additional member, up to a maximum of €180,000.
Priority goes to families according to the number of their minor members, where there are unemployed adult members or members with health problems proven by documents, and then to people living alone or elderly people without a support network who do not receive the same aid from another body.
Applications are filed from Wednesday 7 October to Wednesday 21 October 2026, on working days 9:00-14:00, at the municipality's Social Policy Department (Πρόνοια), Agios Georgios area. Residents of the former municipal units apply at the local KEP citizen-service offices and «Help at Home» (Βοήθεια στο Σπίτι) offices.
