Young people up to 29 years old, holding a lower secondary school (Gymnasio) leaving certificate or equivalent, who are not in education, training or employment, attend a DYPA Apprenticeship Vocational School (EPA.S.) (2-year programme, theory in the afternoon + work-based training in the morning at a business).
Daily wage for work-based training = 80% of the minimum daily wage of an unskilled worker (€32.87/day); in hotels 95% (€39.04/day)

What it is
Young people up to 29 years old, holding a lower secondary school (Gymnasio) leaving certificate or equivalent, who are not in education, training or employment, attend a DYPA (Public Employment Service) Apprenticeship Vocational School (EPA.S.) (2-year programme, theory in the afternoon + work-based training in the morning at a business).
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year have closed: the main period ended on 6/9/2026, the supplementary calls (vacant places, new specialities) on 20/9/2026 and the new period for vacant places in the EPAS annexes on 29/9/2026. The next intake opens with a new DYPA call. DYPA's Experimental Apprenticeship Schools (PEPAS) in tourism and hospitality have their own call, for people aged 18 and over, and are described in a separate entry.
