Housing and meal allowance for DYPA apprenticeship-school (EPAS/PEPAS, ΕΠΑΣ/ΠΕΠΑΣ) students living away from home
First- and second-year apprentices of DYPA's apprenticeship schools (EPAS/PEPAS, ΕΠΑΣ/ΠΕΠΑΣ) who live permanently outside the town of their school get a housing allowance of €240 a month and a meal allowance of €9 a day, on top of their apprenticeship pay.

What it is
The housing allowance goes to first- and second-year apprentices of DYPA's Vocational Apprenticeship Schools (EPAS, ΕΠΑΣ) and Experimental EPAS (PEPAS, ΠΕΠΑΣ) when all of the following apply: - they live permanently outside the town where the school is and cannot commute daily to lessons and workplace learning; - no school with the same specialty operates closer to their permanent home; - their attendance has not been judged insufficient because of absences more than once; - they do not already hold a diploma from another DYPA (former OAED) apprenticeship school.
The housing allowance is €240 a month. Those entitled to it also receive a daily meal allowance of €9.00. Both come on top of the workplace-learning pay, which is described in a separate entry.
