With the documents for your group. Every year, by 31 October, file a new tax statement and a solemn declaration.

What it is
The Municipality of Lefkada keeps for 2026 its «Special Water Tariff for Vulnerable Social Groups» (Municipal Council decision 218/2025, with the prices of decision 33/2025). It covers:
- Large families (four children or the large-family status), with a household income below €15,000.
- Three-child families with three minor children, with a household income below €15,000 (the decision's definition also counts children up to 25 who study: if one of your children studies, ask the Municipality).
- Single-parent families with minor children (also after they come of age, if unmarried and under 23, or under 25 if studying or doing military service), with a household income below €10,000.
- People with a disability of 67% or more (or with a minor child with such a disability), with a household income below €15,000, not counting the tax-free disability allowances.
- The long-term unemployed (more than 12 months; if married, both unemployed), with a taxable household income up to €5,000 plus €2,000 for each child.
- The destitute, with a certificate of financial hardship or a poverty booklet from the social service.
- Recipients of the Social Solidarity Income (today the Minimum Guaranteed Income).
The social tariff is the same in all municipal units: €0.18 per cubic metre up to 50 cubic metres, €0.19 from 51 to 100, €0.38 from 101 to 200 and €0.48 from 201 to 300. The first and main home must be in the Municipality of Lefkada. Documents are renewed every year by 31 October.
