Obtain an electronic medical opinion
Your incapacity for work must be certified electronically by an authorised doctor.

Check the required insurance record
Former IKA-ETAM members need 120 workdays in the previous year or previous 15 months excluding the final quarter. Check the applicable rule for another incorporated fund.

Apply within 8 months
The deadline runs from the issue date of the electronic medical opinion. Sign in to the e-EFKA service with TaxisNet credentials.

What it is
The sickness benefit is paid to directly insured employees who are absent from work because of certified incapacity and starts on the fourth day of illness. Former IKA-ETAM insured employees need at least 120 workdays either in the previous calendar year or in the previous 15 months excluding the final quarter; other incorporated funds follow their applicable rules. For former IKA-ETAM, daily compensation is 50% of the deemed daily wage, subject to official increases and caps, and half of the calculated amount is paid for the first 15 days. The online application must be filed within 8 months of the medical opinion.
