Heat-Pump Installation Grant for Homes in Western Macedonia, up to 100% (Just Development Transition)

Grant to replace the heating system (oil, LPG, solid fuel, electric) with a heat pump in a main home in Western Macedonia, optionally with hot water, insulation and solar panels. The rate (65%-100%) depends on income; it does not apply in areas with district heating or a natural-gas network.

Grant on an eligible budget of up to EUR 22,500 per application. Heat pump, hot water, insulation: 100% (individual ≤ 2,592 / family ≤ 5,832), 95% (≤ 10,000 / ≤ 20,000), 90% (≤ 20,000 / ≤ 30,000), 75% (≤ 30,000 / ≤ 40,000), 65% (above). Solar panels: 55% (band I), 20% (II-V).

What it is

The Region of Western Macedonia, through its Regional Development Fund and the "Just Development Transition" programme, funds replacing the existing heating system with an air-to-water or geothermal heat pump in a main home (house or flat). Domestic hot water, insulation and a self-consumption solar system with optional storage can be added.

Applicants are individuals with a property right (full ownership, usufruct or bare ownership) in the home, even if they rent it out or lend it free as someone else's main home. The current heating must use oil, LPG, solid fuel or electricity. Excluded are areas with district heating and communities with a natural-gas network (Kastoria, Maniakoi, Dispilio, Argos Orestiko, Grevena, Deskati, Florina, Perdikkas, Velventos, Servia, Galatini, Neapoli, Siatista, with some settlements excepted), short-term rentals, and anyone funded by Exoikonomo or other aid for the same works.

The eligible budget is up to EUR 22,500 per application. The grant rate for the heat pump, hot water and insulation depends on income: 100% (individual up to EUR 2,592 / family up to EUR 5,832), 95% (up to 10,000 / 20,000), 90% (up to 20,000 / 30,000), 75% (up to 30,000 / 40,000) and 65% above that. Solar panels: 55% in the first band, 20% in the others. Ranking takes into account income per member, single-parent and large families, and a family member with a disability.

Applications are online only from 28 September to 23 November 2026, with mandatory support from a technical advisor (engineer).
