What it is

HELIOS+ (ESPA 2021-2027, run by the International Organization for Migration, IOM) supports the integration of legally resident beneficiaries of international protection (refugees, subsidiary protection), their family members with a family-reunification or equivalent residence permit and beneficiaries of temporary protection, who hold a valid DYPA unemployment card. You can enrol within 24 months of the service of the international-protection decision, the equivalent permit or the family-reunification permit, or of the first temporary-protection permit; former unaccompanied minors can enrol within 24 months of turning 18. Each participant receives services for up to 18 months.

The programme runs in 12 regions; in 2026 the services were extended in most of them to 30/04/2027 or 30/06/2027. Enrolment in each region closes 6 months before the programme ends there.

The Ministry of Migration announced on 06/10/2025 that rent-subsidy money moves to Greek lessons and training; the 2026 decisions still list a rent subsidy. Ask the IOM whether it is given in your region.
