What it is

The Municipality of Ziros set its 2026 charges with «Social Tariffs for Vulnerable Social Groups» for the first (main) home (Municipal Council decision 133/2025). On water these groups get a «standing charge on the water tariff» (the general standing charge is 45 cubic metres per six months, at €0.50 per cubic metre). In addition:

  • People with a disability of 67% or more, or supporting dependants with such a disability, with a household income below €25,000: 50% off the sewerage charge and the cleaning and lighting fees.
  • Large families with four or more dependent children, income below €25,000 (the decision's Annex adds €3,000 for each child beyond the fourth: ask the Municipality): 55% off; when fewer children remain dependants, 25% with one, 35% with two and 45% with three.
  • Three-child families with three dependent children, income below €25,000: 45% off; 25% with one and 35% with two.
  • The destitute with a destitution certificate: 50% off.
  • Single-parent families with at least one dependent child, income below €12,000: 50% off.
  • Families where both spouses are long-term unemployed (more than 12 months), income below €6,000: 50% off.
  • Recipients of the Social Solidarity Income (today the Minimum Income), with no income limit: 50% off.

Full exemption from water, sewerage, cleaning and lighting charges goes to the destitute, single-parent families and couples of long-term unemployed with zero income, and to transplant recipients with no income limit.

The reductions apply only to the first home, from the application, without retroactive effect. If you fit several groups, you join the most favourable one.
