What it is
In 2026 the Municipality of Elassona continues the action «Support for vulnerable citizens of the Municipality of Elassona» of the «Antonis & Stella Kyrkou» social programme, funded by an inheritance managed by the Municipality. The call was published on 21/05/2026 and applications are accepted all year.
Who can apply: permanent residents of the Municipality of Elassona in vulnerable groups, e.g. because of homelessness, disability, serious illness (serious medical conditions, mental illness), extreme poverty or long-term unemployment. A legal representative may also apply (parent of a person with a disability, a person with custody by court order, a court-appointed guardian, a foster parent or an authorised person).
The aid covers one category of urgent needs: food, housing, transport, energy (electricity, heating), health care (medical, nursing, pharmacy costs) or personal and household hygiene. It is up to €2,000.00 per beneficiary; in exceptionally serious cases the Municipal Council may approve more by unanimous decision. The action's budget is €7,000.00 and may be increased.
Procedure: application with documents, prioritisation by a five-member committee, a home visit by the social service, the committee's opinion, a Municipal Council decision and payment by bank cheque. Applications filed under the 2025 call may be filed again.
