What it is
The Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Zacharo (DEYAZ) has applied a social water tariff since 2013 (Board decision 23/2013) for four categories of consumers: a) large families (polýteknoi) and families with three children with at least one dependent member, b) persons with a disability of 67% or more, from all insurance funds, c) OGA (Agricultural Insurance Organisation) old-age pensioners who live alone and d) long-term unemployed people with an unemployment card valid for more than 12 months. Family income must not exceed €5,000; the limit rises by €2,000 for each dependent member. You submit an application to DEYAZ and the Board of Directors approves admission for one year; to continue, a new application is needed. Applications are examined at regular Board meetings (most recent admission decision: 8/9/2026). The decisions do not state the size of the discount.
