Annual Financial Aid for Orphaned Children of Hellenic Police and Fire Service Personnel (Orphans' Aid Account)
Once a year, financial aid is given to unmarried minor orphans of police officers and firefighters who were serving until their death. The surviving parent or the child's guardian applies.
Annual financial aid; the amount is decided every year by the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection on a proposal of the Foundation's board (no per-child amount is published).

Certificate from the competent service that the parent was serving until death
Family status certificate (last three months)
Copy of the last tax return of the applicant and of the minor (if filed separately), with a solemn declaration that it is a true copy
Copy of an Alpha Bank passbook (joint account of the applicant and the orphans)
Solemn declaration that the copies are genuine

Apply to the Foundation
The surviving parent or the guardian submits an application with the documents to the "Welfare and Excellence of the Hellenic Police" Foundation. The board may ask for further evidence of the financial situation.

What it is
The "Welfare and Excellence of the Hellenic Police" Foundation runs the Aid Account for Orphaned Children of Hellenic Police and Fire Service Personnel. Once a year it gives financial aid to unmarried minor orphans of Hellenic Police and Fire Service personnel, whatever the cause of the parent's death, provided the parent was serving in the Hellenic Police or the Fire Service until the date of death. The amount is decided every year by the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection on a proposal of the Foundation's board. The surviving parent or the child's guardian applies to the Foundation with the supporting documents. The 2025 aid was approved in November 2025 and paid in December 2025.
