Naxos & Small Cyclades: 50% (80% in extreme poverty) cut in municipal and water fees
For 2026 the Municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades cuts the cleaning, lighting, water and sewerage fees of the main home by 50% for needy people, people with disabilities, large and three-child families, single parents and the long-term unemployed, and by 80% for people in extreme poverty.

File an application with the documents for your group; the municipal-fee committee examines them. Update them at the start of each year.

What it is
For 2026 the Municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades approves a reduction of the cleaning, lighting, water and sewerage fees (Municipal Council decision 215/2025). It applies to permanent residents registered in the municipal roll and only to the main home.
50% reduction:
- needy people with a certificate of poverty;
- large families registered with ASPE;
- families with a member with a disability of at least 67%: yearly family income up to €20,000 (disability 67%-79%) or up to €25,000 (80% and over);
- three-child families, with yearly family income up to €40,000;
- single-parent families, with yearly family income up to €20,000;
- the long-term unemployed (unemployed for over 12 months, registered with DYPA), with yearly family income up to €12,000.
80% reduction: people living in extreme poverty (e.g. with proof of GMI, formerly KEA, payments).
The special water tariff covers consumption up to 30 m³ a month for large families and up to 25 m³ a month for the other groups. You cannot combine two special tariffs; the most favourable one applies. The water or electricity bill must be in your name; documents are updated at the start of each year.
