What it is

The Prime Minister announced at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (6/9/2026) the new "My Home III" programme, worth EUR 2 billion, aiming for 40,000 more young people and young couples to buy a first home with a subsidised mortgage. It was announced that the age limits will be raised so that people up to 50 can join, and that implementation will start in early January 2027. It is a new programme, after "My Home II". No joint ministerial decision or call has been published yet: the age and income limits, the property value, the loan amount and the interest rate will be set in the call.

Announcement (2027 draft State Budget, October 2026): a new €2 billion programme through the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) for low-interest first-home mortgages, with wider criteria: age up to 55 (the Thessaloniki Fair speech said up to 50), property market value up to €300,000, loan up to €230,000 and income limits raised by €7,000 per child. It has not been legislated yet; this will be updated once it is published in the Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ).
