Every November–December the Municipality of Tinos pays emergency cash aid to registered citizens in need: unemployed people, families with a member with a 67%+ disability, large, three-child and single-parent families with low income. Applications go to the Community Centre; the Christmas 2026 cycle has not been announced yet.

What it is
Ahead of Christmas the Municipality of Tinos pays emergency cash aid to vulnerable households of its registered citizens, for basic living needs. The last cycle (Christmas 2025) took applications from 28 November to 10 December 2025; the Christmas 2026 cycle has not been announced yet.
Basic conditions (2025): - you are a registered citizen of the Municipality of Tinos; - yearly income up to €6,500, plus €2,000 for each dependent member; - for families with a member with a 67%+ disability the limits rise by €3,500.
Categories: unemployed people in need; families in need with at least one member with a 67%+ disability; large families in need; three-child families in need; single-parent families in need.
Only these count as dependent children: unmarried children under 18; unmarried children up to 25 who study; children doing military service; unmarried, divorced or widowed children with a disability above 67%; unmarried children aged 18–20 not studying, if unemployed and registered with DYPA; unmarried children aged 25–27 who studied until 25, if unemployed and registered with DYPA.
The application (a solemn declaration) and documents go to the Community Centre of the Municipality of Tinos (tel. 22833 60134, 22833 60144, 22833 60117). The Municipal Council examines each case on the service's proposal. The amount per beneficiary is not published; for Christmas 2025 the Municipality spent €9,765.00 in total.
