EOPYY Occupational Therapy Coverage (adults)

EOPYY (National Organisation for the Provision of Health Services) covers occupational therapy with an electronic referral from a doctor of the relevant specialty, for insured people who, in the two months before the referral was issued, had a stroke, a traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury with movement problems, an infection of the central nervous system, damage to the peripheral nerves of the upper limbs, a severe burn or fracture of the upper limbs with a significant loss of function, or an amputation with a prosthetic limb fitted, or who have multiple sclerosis, provided that in the last 6 months they have not been in a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic or a Rehabilitation Centre (KAA) and have not attended a day-care rehabilitation programme at a KAA. Children and adolescents up to 18 are also covered, on referral by a paediatrician or child psychiatrist. Payment: €15 per session (and €15 per session at home if the doctor decides you cannot travel); no co-payment with contracted providers. Frequency/limit: up to 8 sessions a month, for up to 4 months in total; if you were in hospital in the last three months, up to 8 sessions a month for up to 3 more months.
