EOPYY Physiotherapy Coverage

People directly and indirectly insured with e-EFKA (Electronic National Social Security Fund)/EOPYY (National Organisation for the Provision of Health Services) (formerly IKA/OAEE/OGA etc.) with a medical indication for physiotherapy. €15 per session at a practice/clinic, €20 per session at home; the insured person pays 15% (0% at public primary health care units, KEFIAP (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Centres) and ESY (National Health System) hospitals, and for special categories of severe cases: recent stroke, multiple fractures, amputees, multiple sclerosis, etc.). Frequency/limit: up to 20 sessions per calendar year in general (no more than 10 sessions are written on a referral, except in special cases); special categories of severe neurological/orthopaedic conditions (recent stroke, multiple fractures, amputation, multiple sclerosis, rheumatic diseases) are entitled to 8-12 sessions/month for 4-6 months, and cystic fibrosis to up to 10/month throughout the year.

Treatment of limb lymphoedema with massage is also reimbursed, on referral by a general or vascular surgeon, or by a gynaecologist or oncologist after a mastectomy.
