What it is
MAXI Home Energy Reward is a fixed-price plan: the supply charges (standing charge and energy price) are set for the whole contract and do not change with the wholesale market cost. The energy price depends on monthly consumption (6 bands) and applies to all kWh of the month.
The «from €0.099/kWh» price applies to consumption of up to 100 kWh a month with the on-time payment discount. Without the on-time payment discount the same band costs €0.119/kWh. From 501 kWh up, the price is €0.189/kWh with the on-time payment discount or €0.209/kWh without it. Prices exclude 6% VAT and the regulated charges.
The student offer gives 4 free standing charges; the company does not say for which months. It also does not say which schools it accepts or whether the contract can be in a parent’s name.
The contract runs for 12 months, with an early-exit penalty: €120 if you leave in the 1st month, €10 less for each later month down to €20 in the 11th, and €0 in the 12th. No deposit is asked if you pay by standing order.
