What it is

DEYA Doxatou (the Doxato municipal water utility) runs a social tariff for vulnerable groups. Under its Board decision 2/13-01-2026, for bills issued during 2026:

50% reduction: - single-parent families with up to two dependent children and total income up to €13,000 (+€2,500 for each further dependent child); - families with a member with a 67%–79% disability and total income up to €13,000 (single-person household: up to €11,000); - single-person households receiving any pension, with total income up to €12,000; - large families with total income up to €17,000 (+€2,500 for each dependent child beyond four); - parents of three-child or large families once the children are adults (or turn 25 if they studied or served), with income up to €14,000.

75% reduction: - three-child families with total income up to €13,000; - families receiving the Social Solidarity Income (KEA, now the Guaranteed Minimum Income) with family income up to €6,000 and personal income up to €4,000; - large families with total income up to €15,000 (+€2,500 for each dependent child beyond four).

Full waiver (100%): - families with a member with an 80%+ disability and total income up to €21,000; - two persons with a 67%+ disability with total income up to €17,000; - single-parent families with up to two dependent children and income up to €7,000 (+€2,500 for each further child); - large families with income up to €12,000 (+€2,500 for each dependent child beyond four); - KEA families with family income up to €4,000 and personal income up to €2,500; - families with three or more members with a 67%+ disability, or two or more with an 80%+ disability, regardless of income.

Income means the declared taxable income of everyone living in the home (family and guests). Real-estate limit: €150,000 for single-parent families, pensioners living alone and families with a 67%–79% disabled member; €250,000 for three-child and large families; €300,000 for families with two or more members with a 67%–79% disability or with a member with an 80%+ disability. Dependent children are those under 18, those studying or doing military service who are not yet 25, and those with a 67%+ disability at any age.

The reduction applies to one property, the main residence as declared in the tax return, to the fixed water and sewerage charges and to the first 240 m³; further consumption is billed at the normal tariff. You do not need to be clear of debts to DEYA. It does not apply to overdue bills of previous years.

Documents for 2026 had to be filed by 27/02/2026. The criteria and deadline for 2027 have not been announced yet.
